A little bit about myself to let you know who I am and their may be someone reading this who knows me and may like to drop me a personal message.

I joined during the long hot summer of 1976 at HMS Ganges before transferring to HMS Mercury at Petersfield to train as a radio operator.

From Mercury I went on loan draft to HMS Lynx for a short period before joining HMS Torquay and there I stayed until 1978 when I joined HMS Blake to go on deployment to the states. Deployment Newsletters

After the snaky Blake (helicopter cruiser) I went to HMS Shetland (fishery protection), good old drafty.................

But he was kind to me in 1980 after I got married and he posted my wife and I to Gibraltar for 2 years.

After Gib I had trips on HMS Guardian down to the Falklands, HMS Fearless and HMS Apollo, both to the states and I had shore time at HMS Forest Moor and Pitreavie radio stations. I did some teaching in Kelly Squadron before finishing my time on OXP also at Mercury.

My site is hopefully an aid to those wishing to make contact with old friends and who maybe do not get the Navy News but do surf the net. Another way of possibly finding an individual is by contacting Forces Contact Association, 57 Norwich Close, Lichfield, Staffs. WS13 7SJ but I have to admit I do not know how good they are as I have never contacted them personally.

I will try to keep your requests on the site for as long as I can before replacing them so that you can gain maximum benefit.
